Opening Ceremony

Auckland Town Hall

Auckland Town Hall

We intend to host the Opening Ceremony at the magnificent and historic Auckland Town Hall. A traditional Maori Powhiri (or welcoming ceremony) will kick-off proceedings, with canapés and cocktails provided afterwards in the Grand Foyer. Originally opened in 1911 and now a protected historic building, the Town Hall is Auckland’s cultural and entertainment hub – and is a fitting venue to begin an event such as Australs.

Test Debate

The test debate will be held at the Bluestone Room. Situated in the oldest commercial building in Auckland, the building is now host to an impressive bar featuring great food and craft beer in an historic environment. Generous drinks subsidies will ensure that fun will be had by all, regardless of the quality of the debate itself!

Women’s Night

The Concert Chamber at the Auckland Town Hall will centre as the venue for the women’s night. Watch with awe as some of the top Australian, New Zealand and Asian female speakers debate a topical issue. Accompanying this will be canapés and cocktails for all to enjoy, as well as a guest speaker.

Break Night Party

Floating Pavilion

Floating Pavilion

Be prepared to be dazzled by the break night party at the iconic Floating Pavilion. Tipped as Auckland’s premier events location and nestled in the Viaduct Harbour, this party will not be forgotten. Let loose on the dance floor to top Auckland DJ mixes and enjoy the views of the Auckland skyline from a truly stunning location.

Championship Dinner

Civic Wintergarden

Civic Wintergarden

The Championship Dinner will be hosted at The Wintergarden, situated in the historic Civic Theatre. The theatre is one of the last remaining atmospheric theatres in the world, and is known as the location of King Kong’s escape in the recent blockbuster epic. With its Moorish-themed walls, ceiling and central pillars, the room is a spectacular setting for what will be an unforgettable evening.

Final night drinks

Festivities after the Grand Final will continue long into the night at Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour. Originally built for the 2000 Americas Cup, the Viaduct is Auckland’s nightlife centre featuring an assortment of restaurants, clubs and more intimate lounge venues.
